2023 Kia K5
Power & Efficiency
The first four 2023 Kia K5 trims come equipped with a potent turbocharged 1.6-liter engine capable of 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The GT trim ups the ante with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Those first four trims provide an eight-speed automatic transmission, with the GT model getting paired with an eight-speed dual clutch transmission (wet type). Up to 27 city and 37 highway miles per gallon in fuel economy is possible in the base model, while 24 city and 32 highway miles per gallon are the numbers you can achieve in the GT.
Any sedan that’s meant to take the family around town or on major trips must provide a safe experience. The 2023 Kia K5 delivers. Standard safety features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Driver Attention Warning with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, and Rear View Monitor. Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist round out some of the other notable safety features here. Of course, these aren’t replacements for safe driving practices, but it’s nice to have a helping hand.
