The IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety) conducts crash testing every year. In doing so, they make sure that every new vehicle can meet the challenges of everyday driving. Not just to see how a vehicle can withstand a crash, but to see how they can avoid getting into one.
The Kia lineup is designed with a commitment to safety from the ground up. From strong unibody structures to a complete set of driver assistance technologies. The Kia family of vehicles are designed to keep you and everyone on board safe and secure mile after mile.
Which Kia vehicles were winners?
EIGHT Kia models were given top marks in this years testing. The 2021 K5 received the Top Safety Pick Plus award, the IIHS’s top honors. The Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, Soul, Stinger, Seltos, and Forte received Top Safety Pick rating for this model year, when equipped with front crash prevention and specific headlights.
The IIHS looks at each vehicle to see if they meet their stringent standards to qualify for these designations. Testing includes evaluating crash readiness, build integrity and available and standard safety systems
IIHS awards shows that Kia makes safer and more secure vehicles for you. Our commitment stems from engineering features such as the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian detection, and LED lighting systems with High Beam Assist.
Kia Drive Wise assist features are great to have and Kia of Mankato encourages our customers to try them out in real world situations in and around town. It also comes down to the basics, such as easy to use seat belts, air bags that protect the passenger area, and strong construction that is built into every Kia we sell to you.
