What is different about the Kia HabaNiro concept vehicle?
Fuel economy has been a primary focus for Kia since its first models arrived at American dealerships like Kia of Mankato. The next revolution in the global automotive industry will be eliminating the need for fossil fuels like gasoline. Kia is already looking to the future and gave its fans a glimpse at what is coming down the pike with its newest concept project. So, what is different about the Kia HabaNiro concept vehicle? Well, as its name suggests, the Kia HabaNiro will be a spicy, fully electrified vehicle that is reported to accommodate four passengers, offer a few hundred miles of range and all-wheel-drive. Let’s take a look at what the future might hold.
“We couldn’t be more proud of our design center,” Michael Cole, KMA chief operating officer and executive vice president said in a press release. “The HabaNiro is a genius work of skill and imagination. Not only does its beautiful design incorporate the needs of future mobility, but its engineering and technology anticipate the way people will want to move in the near future.”
One of the biggest challenges automakers, like Kia, face is the apprehension from buyers about solely relying on a vehicle powered by batteries. Huge advances have been made in the storage capacity of electric vehicles. If the Kia HabaNiro eventually goes into production, the manufacturer is aiming for the advanced EV platform to be able to travel up to 300 miles without using a single drop of gasoline.
Since the Kia HabaNiro is a concept vehicle, the manufacturer is also giving us a peek at what high-tech systems could be equipped in this unique platform. There are several companies that offer a heads-up display for their vehicles. The Kia HabaNiro teases a new capability that will project the HUD across the entire windshield. In addition to being able to give drivers more information, it will also allow passengers to interact with certain systems. Finally, the Kia HabaNiro is also reported to offer a part-time level five autonomous driving system. This means that a driver will be able to control the vehicle themselves or allow the onboard computer to take the wheel.
