What does it take to become number one? It takes building dependable vehicles for every budget and being very good at it. Good enough to be recognized for doing so.
This year, J.D. Power recognized how far Kia has gone to produce and sell the most dependable vehicles sold in America. Therefore, they bestowed the top spot on the J.D. Power 2021 Vehicle Dependability Study among mainstream vehicle brands. Kia earned this distinction by scoring 97 problems per 100 vehicles. The industry average is 121 problems per 100 vehicles.
Kia jumped six places from last year’s study to earn the top spot in the 2021 Vehicle Dependability Study. This follows up Kia’s earning the top spot in the J.D. Power 2020 Initial Quality Study.
The study measures the number of problems per 100 vehicles experienced over the last year by owners of their three-year-old vehicles, meaning this study focused on 2018 model year vehicles. It includes 32 nameplates and 153 models, covering problem symptoms grouped into eight major vehicle categories: Driving Experience, Interior, Engine/Transmission, Exterior, Audio/Communication/Entertainment/Navigation, Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning, and Seats.
The result is a lineup of dependable vehicles that you can count on. That is what Kia does for you.
