Telluride, Niro Win Drivers’ Choice Awards

By Kia of Mankato | Posted in Awards, Kia Niro, Kia Telluride on Thursday, March 19th, 2020 at 3:09 PM

Remember when you first watched MotorWeek? The host, John Davis, telling you about the latest vehicles as they go through the slalom or along the roads near their Maryland studio.

They are still on the air! They’re giving awards. And, Kia has been recognized with two of MotorWeek’s Drivers’ Choice Awards for 2020!

The award-winning Kia Telluride was named Best Large Utility, while the Niro took home the Best Eco-Friendly award.

MotorWeek’s editors conduct upwards of 150 car and truck reviews annually, evaluating vehicles on an array of factors, including price, features, performance, accommodations, fuel economy, reliability records, and resale value. The Drivers’ Choice awards are based on these thorough evaluations.

The results are simple. The Telluride is the finest three-row midsize SUV for families. Not just for the 7-8 seat capacity inside, but of its overall value across the lineup. The Telluride’s powerful V6 is designed for the long haul- somewhere beyond the Twin Cities. It also offers a superb ride and overall comfort across all three rows.

For those looking for a better hedge on fuel economy, the Niro is the right vehicle for you. Its versatile crossover body accommodates up to five people or up to 54.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Its Hybrid driveline is designed for efficiency while delivering solid performance for across Mankato or the drive out to Sioux Falls.

Two special vehicles to fit your lifestyle. Both winners in the eyes of MotorWeek. That is a duo you can’t go wrong with. Check out the Niro and Telluride at Kia of Mankato. Take one for a test drive and see why these two are winners in your eyes.

Six Kia Models Named Top Safety Pick By IIHS

By Kia of Mankato | Posted in Awards, Safety on Sunday, March 8th, 2020 at 6:48 PM

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety [IIHS] conducts crash testing every year to make sure that every new vehicle can meet the challenges of everyday driving. Not just to see how a vehicle can withstand a crash, but to see how they can avoid getting into one.

The Kia lineup is designed with a commitment to safety from the ground up. From strong unibody structures to a complete set of driver assistance technologies.  The Kia family of vehicles are designed to keep you and everyone on board safe and secure mile after mile.

In this year’s IIHS testing, SIX Kia models were given top marks.  The 2020 Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, Soul, Stinger and Forte received Top Safety Pick rating for this model year, when equipped with front crash prevention and specific headlights.

The IIHS looks at each vehicle to see if they meet their stringent standards to qualify for these designations. Testing includes evaluating crash readiness, build integrity and available and standard safety systems

These awards combined shows that Kia makes safer and more secure vehicles for you. This commitment stems from engineering features such as the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian detection, and LED lighting systems with High Beam Assist.

Driver assist features are great to have and Kia of Mankato encourages our customers to try them out in real world situations in and around town. It also comes down to the basics, such as easy to use seat belts, air bags that protect the passenger area, and strong construction that is built into every Kia we sell to you.

See our commitment to safety by checking out our lineup at Kia of Mankato. Test drive our lineup available today!

2020 Kia Cadenza Debuted at the Chicago Auto Show

By Kia of Mankato | Posted in Kia Cadenza on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 at 9:31 AM

The Chicago Auto Show is one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in this country.

Kia’s stand welcomed visitors to see our award-winning lineup. In fact, the Telluride received a few more awards to go on the trophy shelf. The television show, MotorWeek, gave the Telluride one of their Driver’s Choice Awards for its class. The Niro also received one from host and series creator John Davis, as well. The Midwest Automotive Media Association awarded their Family Car of The Year to the Telluride, as well. Lastly, the Victory & Reseda website presented their Vehicle of The Year award for the Telluride, thanks to a public vote on their website.

We even showed off our three biggest awards at our stand: The Motor Trend SUV of the Year, the North American Utility of the Year, and the Car and Driver 10Best award. You can say that the hottest SUV in its class got a lot of attention during its run at the Chicago Auto Show.

However, the biggest news from our stand was the introduction of the redesigned 2020 Cadenza luxury sedan. It will arrive soon to Kia of Mankato with a sharper design, new driver assistance and technology features, and an improved interior designed for better driver engagement.

Up front, you will notice a redesigned hood and grille with deeper vertical waterfall fascia. The new grille is flanked by a set of standard multi-lens LED headlights with redesigned LED DRL lamps. There is also a new lower front fascia with integrated turn signals. In the rear, you will find a redesigned bumper and trunk lid, with a new set of LED combination rear tail lights. Finishing up the look are some redesigned standard 18-inch alloy wheels, with a new set of available 19-inch wheels.

The big news for the 2020 Cadenza is a completely redesigned dash and instrument cluster with relocated audio controls above the climate switchgear. Inside the cluster is a standard 4.2-inch TFT color information screen available for easier readouts. Above the relocated audio controls is a new 12.3-inch touchscreen with multi-device Bluetooth connectivity is standard. The infotainment system offers three additional USB charging ports throughout the cabin, plus an enhanced 10-watt wireless fast-charging phone charger.

The Cadenza has always offered a level of luxury that is attainable while giving an air of a car priced much more. That luxury now includes a new available multi-color ambient LED mood lighting for the Limited model. Plus, you can select two new nappa leather-trimmed seating colors: Saddle Brown and Gray, with Limited models offering quilted seat bolsters. To finish up, the Cadenza now comes with a new standard Smart Key with remote Engine Start.

In an effort to improve occupant and vehicle safety, the 2020 Cadenza adds new features to our Drive Wise suite of driver-assisted technologies. These new standard features include a “Sensor Fusion” that combines Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian/cyclist detection, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go and High Beam Assist. Other new features include Lane Following Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist – Rear with Lane Change Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, and Safe Exit Assist.

The redesigned 2020 Cadenza sedan is coming soon to Kia of Mankato. Contact us to register your interest and schedule a test drive when it comes in. You will be convinced that this will become your next luxury sedan.
